Explore History in 16 Thematic Rooms
Each of the museum’s 16 galleries provides a window into a different historical period. The Mineralogy Room showcases a collection of rocks and minerals dating back to the 19th century, while the Archaeology Room houses objects reflecting the lives of Durango’s ancient inhabitants, including funerary urns and mummies. The Pinacoteca features works by Miguel Cabrera, the greatest exponent of 18th-century Viceregal painting, and the Francisco Villa Room tells the story of the legendary revolutionary.
Cultural Activities and Spaces for All
The museum is not only a space for contemplation but also for active participation in culture. The Dr. Gabriel Ángel Guerrero Ibarra Auditorium hosts conferences, film clubs, recitals, and concerts.
