An excellent option for monster bass fishing is Lake Bayacora, located just 18 miles from the city of Durango. This impressive lake, surrounded by forests, pines, and majestic rocky cliffs, offers optimal fishing spots distributed across rocky areas, shallows, and points.
Lake Bayacora has particular features every angler should know:
- Fishing is more abundant in the afternoons (from 3 to 8 pm) than in the mornings.
- The average size of the bass here is larger compared to other lakes in the region, ranging from 4 to 9 pounds. However, the catch rate is moderate—you’ll need to put in the effort to get them!
- Most anglers enjoy this spot through the catch-and-release practice.
