Practical Conservation Skills.
At the Durango Zoo, we offer workshops such as "How to Act Quickly in Wildlife Management", taught by Dr. Fernando Cortés. Attendees acquire practical skills for handling animal emergencies, including physical and chemical containment protocols, and handling injured wildlife. The course "Protecting Our Wildlife, Protecting Our Future," led by Daniela Gamboa and Iván Kang, focuses on herpetofauna management. With the participation of PROFEPA and other entities, this workshop reinforces the conservation and responsible management of local species.

Rescue and release
A Commitment to Wildlife
Sahuatoba Zoo's Rescue and Release Program works in collaboration with the environmental police to save injured and endangered animals. After being rescued, animals receive specialized veterinary care, as was the case of an injured sparrowhawk that was rehabilitated at our facilities prior to its release into the wild.

What are the zoo's opening and closing hours?
The zoo is open Monday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (may vary on holidays).
Are food and beverages allowed inside the zoo?
No outside food or beverages are allowed, but there are designated areas where you can enjoy meals and snacks purchased inside the zoo.
Are there accessibility options for people with reduced mobility?
Yes, the zoo has adequate access and services to ensure a comfortable visit for everyone.
Are guided tours available?
Yes, we offer scheduled guided tours that will allow you to learn more about the animals and their conservation. Check at the entrance or on our website for more information.
Is the zoo pet friendly?
For safety and animal welfare reasons, pets are not allowed inside the zoo, except for service animals.
